BEYOND THE BIG BEN: THE SEARCH FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
A Gateway to the Future
The mission to discover the next generation of basketball talent knows no borders. After a landmark showcase in Las Vegas in 2025, the spotlight crossed the Atlantic, landing in the historic heart of London. There, beneath the shadow of Big Ben, a powerful alliance—Impact, Thrive Cams, Angola Players, and Cockton TV—transformed a local gym into a gateway. This was more than a camp. It was the starting line for the next wave of international talent aiming for the United States.
Every drill, every possession, every shot carries weight. In a game where a single opportunity can alter the course of a life, every second matters. For the hungry athletes who gathered, this was exposure. This was opportunity. This was the search for the future of the game.
"Somewhere in this camp, the next name the world will hear is about to be discovered."

THE ARCHITECTS — ELIMINATING THE MIDDLEMAN
"Schools, scouts, agents, clubs—they go directly to the source, Basketball knows no nationalities, no color, no race, no creed. If you're serious about the game, the United States is the place to be."
At the center of the operation is Pedro, a FIFA agent and the visionary behind Angola Players. With nearly 50 plus student-athletes already placed in the US and Canada—ranging from NCAA Division I programs to prep schools—Pedro has built a platform designed to do one thing: eliminate the barrier between raw talent and opportunity.
THE OBSERVER — A SCOUT’S PERSPECTIVE
We're looking for players who are willing to work hard and develop, We provide a pathway to play and study at a university. Any player under the right structure can reach the next level." - Rodriguez shares.
Ignasio Rodriguez, international scout for DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, made the trip to London for a first look at UK talent. DME offers a rigorous 10-month structure where athletes train four hours daily and study five hours, preparing them for the demands of college basketball.

The atmosphere in the gym was electric and unrelenting. Coaches pushed players through one-on-one battles, defensive slides, and conditioning drills that left no room for shortcuts. The message was clear: comfort zones are the enemy of progress. One coach addressed the group directly, contrasting the relaxed practice schedules common in the UK—often three times a week—with the demanding two-a-day sessions expected in the US.
"It's not only about physical strength," he told the players. "It's mental strength. If you're not a guy that when you wake up, the first thing you think about is basketball, this is not for you."

THE DIGITAL EDGE — IF IT’S NOT ONLINE, IT DIDN’T HAPPEN
In the modern recruiting era, talent alone is no longer enough. Coaches and organizers stressed the importance of building an identity online. Social media is no longer optional; it is the shortest path to visibility.
Players were encouraged to take ownership of their brand, curating content that showcases their skills, work ethic, and character.
"You might be the best point guard in your city, but if you're not on the internet, it didn't happen." -one organizer explained,
THE RECOGNITION —
AWARDS THAT MATTER
Instead of traditional MVP honors, the camp concluded with awards that celebrated the intangible qualities scouts value most. These were not given to the loudest players, but to those who embodied the grind.
DR. GRIND AWARD
Hard Work Without Cheating
Awarded to the player who stayed in the plank position when no one was watching, who pushed through every rep without cutting corners. This award is for the athlete who understands that integrity in training translates to integrity in games.
TWO-WAY IMPACT
Offense Meets Defense
Basketball is not just about scoring. This award recognized the player who brought the same intensity to the defensive end as they did on offense—no lazy rotations, no resting on reputation.
LEADERSHIP IS A SKILL
Engagement, Empathy, and Voice
This award went to the player who was coachable, who greeted every coach, who lifted up teammates, and who demonstrated that leadership is not a title but a daily practice.
